Welcome to Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation

At Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation, we partner with organisations to bridge the gap between good intentions and real impact. We support businesses in moving beyond performative gestures by co-developing initiatives that are culturally safe, community-led, and focused on long-term success.

Our services include:

  • Co-designing and delivering First Nations engagement strategies

  • Grant writing and program development

  • Cultural capability training and strategic advice

  • Procurement pathways and Indigenous employment partnerships

Whether you’re seeking to strengthen your Reconciliation Action Plan, build inclusive hiring pipelines, or genuinely connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities—we’re here to walk with you.

Let’s build something meaningful together.

  • The name Cultural Nexus carries deep meaning. A nexus is a connection point—a central link between people, systems, ideas, and action. For me, Cultural Nexus represents the place where culture meets power, where our ancestral wisdom meets contemporary systems. It is the meeting place where old ways and new ways walk together.

Cultural Nexus is both a gathering ground and a launching pad: a space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to connect, re-centre, and lead. It acknowledges the strength of our cultures while confronting the systems that have failed to serve us. It’s about reclaiming space and reimagining futures. It’s about ensuring culture is not something to be ‘included’—it’s the foundation from which everything grows.

Cultural Nexus is a refusal to fragment our identities. It means bringing our full selves—our stories, our struggles, our strengths—into every table, boardroom, and opportunity. It’s where cultural identity is not a barrier, but our most powerful asset.

  • Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation was founded by Eddie Solien, a proud Torres Strait Islander man with ancestral ties to Badu Island and Thursday Island, and strong familial connections to Tatana Village in Papua New Guinea. Eddie’s lived experience as a First Nations person navigating both cultural and corporate worlds fuels his commitment to equity, opportunity, and truth-telling.

His vision for Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation is deeply rooted in honouring the legacy of his Elders, protecting cultural identity, and creating real pathways for economic empowerment. Eddie understands the challenges our communities face because he has lived them. Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation is not just a business—it’s a movement grounded in love for culture, land, and people.

“Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation was born from both necessity and deep conviction. For me, it’s not just an organisation—it’s a legacy in motion. It’s my response to generations of systemic exclusion, and my lived experience as a proud Torres Strait Islander man navigating health struggles, workplace inequality, and the sacred responsibility of cultural leadership.

Cultural Nexus is about anchoring ourselves in culture while pushing forward with innovation. It’s the space where First Nations knowledge, resilience, and self-determination are not only recognised but deeply respected—and practically applied. Through Cultural Nexus, I am creating pathways for our people to lead in our own way, in spaces that have too often shut us out or co-opted our voices.

This organisation is the heartbeat of my work—built with integrity, truth-telling, and unapologetic pride. It stands as a culturally grounded, 100% Indigenous-owned and managed entity that refuses to compromise on cultural safety, representation, or justice. It is about empowerment—not just through words, but through tangible outcomes that shift systems.”

    — Eddie Solien, Founder, Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation

  • Cultural Nexus is unapologetically for mob. It was established to serve and uplift Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the continent by restoring the cultural, economic, and social capital that has been systematically eroded. Everything we do is underpinned by the principle of self-determination, recognising the diversity of our communities and responding with culturally appropriate, community-led, and values-driven solutions.

Our work is informed by lived experience, governed by cultural protocols, and driven by accountability to our Elders—past, present, and emerging. We honour Country, identity, and kinship as foundational to our practice. Whether it’s governance training, cultural safety reviews, or capacity-building partnerships, CNIC walks alongside mob—not ahead of them, not above them.

  • Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation exists to create culturally safe systems, spaces, and solutions that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to lead, thrive, and self-determine.

We deliver Indigenous-led services and programs that prioritise truth-telling, cultural strength, and systemic transformation. We honour the strength of our ancestors and the potential of our future generations by embedding culture at the centre of everything we do.

Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation is a 100% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned and operated organisation that exists to create culturally safe systems, spaces, and solutions—by mob, for mob.

We are not here to tick boxes.

We are here to transform them.

Cultural Nexus is the point where culture meets power—where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wisdom, lived experience, and leadership intersect with governance, innovation, and action. We don’t exist within the system. We exist to shift it.

What Does Cultural Nexus Mean?

At its heart, Cultural Nexus is a meeting place. A centre of connection. It represents the intersection between ancient knowledge and modern solutions—where cultural identity isn’t added on, it’s embedded from the beginning.

We are here to:

  • Rebuild what colonisation tried to break.

  • Honour our Elders, stories, and Sovereignty.

  • Create opportunities rooted in self-determination.

Our Mission

To create culturally safe systems, spaces, and solutions that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to lead, thrive, and self-determine.

Through Indigenous-led programs, business development, employment solutions, cultural governance, and advocacy—we walk alongside mob to strengthen our communities and influence change from the inside out.

Our Work Includes

  • Culturally Safe Employment (via Indigenous Job Match)

  • Cultural Safety Reviews & Truth-Telling Frameworks

  • Indigenous Governance & Capacity Building

  • Strategic Advice for Mainstream Organisations

  • First Nations-Led Social Enterprises

  • Cultural Capability Training & Facilitation

  • Community-Led Research and Consultation

Every service we deliver is grounded in cultural authority, community connection, and accountability to mob.

Our Subsidiary: Indigenous Job Match (IJM)

Indigenous Job Match is CNIC’s flagship initiative. A dedicated employment platform that connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent with culturally safe employers.

We don’t just help mob get jobs—we vet organisations to ensure they’re ready to walk the talk.

Why We Exist

Because we’ve been shut out of the systems meant to serve us.

Because cultural load is real—and our people deserve workplaces and services that see us, value us, and are led by us.

Because self-determination isn’t optional—it’s our right.

Cultural Nexus is here to protect that right, power it up, and pass it on to future generations.
